PALLADION » Service Assurance Probes

To extend Service Assurance visibility to the customer premise environment, a range of Probes are available and fully integrated with PALLADION. Deployment models include a small-footprint hardware probe or packaged software binary which can be deployed across a variety of industry standard hardware platforms. Several of the CPE products available from SIPHON also implement voice quality reporting capabilities.

The deployment of Service Assurance Probes capture all media traffic (and optionally signalling) that traverses to / from the Enterprise. This is specifically important for to provide a clear demarcation for issue diagnosis and monitoring of audio quality. This enables measurement of aspects such as Jitter, Packet Loss, and Burst Packet Loss for the subscriber data stream and determining a Voice Quality Rate or the degradation of the Mean Opinion Score (MOS) and R-Factor.
